Ostensibly a very early disaster movie which has at the climax of the film some very creditable miniature zeppelin effects.
It was released in the same year (1930) as Hell's Angels which featured a brilliantly staged and shot miniature zeppelin sequence. This film doesn't quite match the quality of the Hells Angel's miniature effects but comes a very close second.
There are some early traveling mattes of parachuting actors combined in an optical printer with miniature backgrounds.
The close ups of the dirigible breaking up are particularly noteworthy from the amount of miniature detail in the broken girders and guy wires spilling out.
