None But The Brave 1965

The miniature sequences in this Frank Sinatra directed, American Japanese co-production are very well staged by the legendary miniatures supervisor Eiji Tsubaraya at Toho Studios.

There are miniature versions of a Zero, Corsair and a DC3 which has a very creditable crash sequence.
There is a pretty convincing miniature island which opens the film and also a monsoon sequence with some heavy wave and storm action.

One of the interesting quirks of the 1080 video release is that you can make out the arrangement of the wires supporting the models in some of the closer shots. Click on the images to see them fullsize.

Wires visible in this close shot.
